Cape Sounio (Mainland)
The major landmark of Attica is the Temple of Poseidon, the Greek God of the Sea. It is on the southern tip, high on rocks overlooking a lovely small beach and warm blue seas. All are worthy of your time as are the beaches at Legrana and Lavrio. The seafood is spectacular and you should visit a local taverna to try it. Glass in hand, there are few better sights that the silhouette of the Temple as the sun goes down.
