Kemer
Head south west around 40 kms from Antalya and you will come to the expanding tourist centre of Kemer that years ago was a small fishing village accessible only from the sea. Nowadays it has a well-developed tourist infrastructure and a modern marina. The name Kemer means ‘’belt’’ and was given to the settlement because the river running through it, out to sea, looks like a belt. The Tauros Mountains tower above Kemer which has expanded quickly in the last 20 years. There is plenty of accommodation available while the shops offer all the major international brands. You will find bars, cafes and restaurants in this increasingly busy town and a pleasant marina with good berthing capacity. You will still find plenty of fresh fish but tourism is now decidedly its economic mainstay.
