Lefkimmi (Corfu Island)
Lefkimmi is the second biggest town on the Island of Corfu. It has is a river running through it & walking down to the coast to the salt pans and the lighthouse along the river is very pleasant. The long golden stretch of beach is a major attraction of Lefkimmi, well worth the drive or the walk out of town. There are plenty of cafes and places to eat situated along the riverbank even though the town is mainly geared towards the locals rather than tourists. Visitors will enjoy the interesting architecture, picturesque squares and beautiful churches.
